last week i had CAMP! it was at colo river.. somewhere near lismore or sumthing.... the org. was called "Somerset"...

it was pretty awesome considering that we got to choose our camp buddy =D my group consisted of 19 ppl including the teacher, instructor and GAPpie.

 i think i'll recount it in chronoloogical order. =]

Since I'm doing DoE i needed a training day before camp. And that was the Sunday that i was away…

Sunday.

They gave us each a compass and we planned out our route for the practise expedition. then we did some navigation.. and repacked our camps bags. + the sad thing is that it took me forever the night before to pack everything in.. and then we just had to take it ALL  out =0=……

Monday.

we didn’t stop at base camp, we were dropped off straight to the place we were gnna start hiking and everyone did a lil bit of nav. That first day, we walked 8 km ><”! I shared a tent with my buddy ali, so we had to carry half the tent each + ALL of our clothing =.=// I died …nearly :D

Tuesday.

we walked to rockclimbing WITH our rucksacks and then… went rockclimbing =D haha. it was quite hard, and I could only make it up to where most people stopped. Then we were driven back to base camp [thank goodness! we had a car] then we did rafting.the creek water was ICE COLD… literally but all in all twas cool stuff x]] I also showered.. which was nicceeeeeee x))

Wednesday.

we headed off from base camp in canoes to get to our next camp site [we slept somewhere diff. every nite.] we rowed for about 10km then stopped at our next campsite… it was FILLED with cowpat. and to make things better, there was a pit toilet (= and that was when my friend started throwing up, cos she was so disturbed by the sight and smeellll XD bahahaha we had a BBQ that nite, and I was cooking it x)) hehe.

Thursday.

Started our expedition, we went bushbashing and walked about 12km? those stupid plants are SO stubbornly spiky… *twitch twitch* =.= then we stopped at the next camp site, and there was a portaloo there. And it being thursday, meant that it was also nearly the end of the week… meaning that the portaloo had already been used several times by others that had stopped by that campsite throughout the week. The instructor goes into the reeking toilet then comes out, announcing that the portaloo was reaching its maximum holding level – so if we needed to piss, we must resort to the bushes xD. And since I was BUSTING to poop, I went in, and I saw… the crap inside was about….35cm from reaching the top of the toilette.. hehe

Friday.

we  hiked another 6 km ...bushbashing and then returned to base camp, where we had hotdogs and said farewell to Somerset camp.
